Paying
How fees work
Who pays depends on your claim. This is how each visit is billed, in the order you will want to ask.
Insurance we work with
For a work injury, we bill the payer on your claim: the state agency or the self-insured employer named on it. For care that isn't a work injury, we bill health plans we are in network with. Medicare covers manual spinal manipulation only; ask us what applies to you.
Workers' compensation claims, billed to the claim's payer
Most PPO plans, for care that isn't a work injury
Your plan's own rules decide what it pays
If you pay yourself
If your claim is denied or your visit isn't allowed, you may pay yourself, or your health plan may pay. We tell you which before the visit, and you decide whether to go ahead.
Receipts for reimbursement
Ask the front desk for an itemized receipt after any visit you pay for. It lists each service in plain words, so you can send it to your plan. Your plan decides whether it reimburses you.
An estimate in advance
If you don't use insurance, or your claim isn't allowed, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate. We give you an estimate in writing before your visit, and the notice is posted at the front desk.
Checking your benefits
Before your first visit, we confirm with the payer that we can see you on your claim. Have your claim number, your employer's name and the date you were hurt ready. Our coordinator makes the call, and you hear back before you are booked.
What the first visit involves
A first visit takes about 45 minutes. Your doctor talks with you, examines you and writes a plan and a work-status note. X-rays are taken only when medically necessary.

Changing a visit
If you need to change a visit
Please call us as early as you can if you need to change a visit. Ask the front desk about our cancellation policy.
If a shift change or a payer decision makes a visit hard to keep, tell us. We would rather move it than lose it.
